Difference between crankshaft and camshaft

Crankshaft:-

The crankshaft is fitted below the engine cylinder.

Rotation of the crankshaft is Governed by the piston.

The crankshaft is manufactured by the forging process and material used for it is a alloy steel.

Camshaft:-

Camshaft

The camshaft is use of to opening and closing the inlet valve and outlet valve with the accurate timing.

The camshaft is fitted above the engine cylinder.

Rotation of camshaft is done with the help of rotation of crankshaft.

The camshaft is manufactured with the help of casting process and the material used for it is cast iron.

Difference between Crankshaft and Camshaft:-

2.	The function of camshaft is to opening and closing of the inlet and outlet valve with accurate timing.	The function of crankshaft is to covert the reciprocating motion of piston into rotary motion that can be transferred to wheels.
3.	Rotation of camshaft is done by attaching timing gear (or) belt to crankshaft.	Rotation of crankshaft is done by the piston.
4.	The material used for making camshaft is cast iron (or) steel.	The material used for making crankshaft is alloy steel.
5.	Manufacturing of camshaft done by Casting process.	Manufacturing of crankshaft done by Forging process.
6.	Easy to manufactured than crankshaft.	Difficulty to manufactured than camshaft.
7.	Camshaft rotates at half the speed of the crankshaft.	crankshaft rotates at double the speed of the camshaft.
8.	Every One revolution of camshaft gives two revolution of crankshaft.	Every two revolution of crankshaft gives one revolution of camshaft.
